Increase Your Property Value Go Solar

If you are like me you might being thinking about ways to increase the value of your property. Updating the kitchen and baths and keeping your curb appeal up by keeping your property properly maintained on the out side and inside are all great ways to keep up the value of your home.

Of course you do not want to over look the tax incentives available to both home and business owners at state and local levels.

Solar Power is now! Millions of people have already stuck their collective toe in the water by adding solar lighting to their patios, decks, driveways and gardens. If you want to be on the cutting edge you want to start thinking about alternative energy for your home.

You will be amazed at the wide range of products available on the market from the DIY back up power kits to grid tied systems that have power companies paying you for the energy you generate that you do not use. Also available are the charging systems for your cell phones and lap tops, long life solar light bulbs that have interchangeable parts, and all kinds of solar powered toys, and battery chargers.

Job growth in the renewable energy field is at 100%. That should tell you something about the industry making leaps and bounds. SO going alternative can give you that feel good feeling in that you are helping the changing economy.

So there is no reason in the world not to go solar.

The Biggest Little Town in Solar : Greentech Media

It takes a village to cut through the red tape and streamline solar permitting.

Herman K. Trabish: April 26, 2012
n anticipation of the GTM Solar Summit in Phoenix next week, GTM continues its look into the Arizona solar industry.
First Solar’s four-month construction time for its 17-megawatt thin-film Paloma solar facility in Gila Bend, Arizona, was “the fastest the industry has ever witnessed, to our knowledge, anywhere,” according to Program Manager Ted Geisler of Arizona Public Service (APS), the state’s biggest utility and the facility’s financial backer.
Paloma, Geisler said, was the result of “a unique partnership between First Solar as the developer, APS as the owner, and the local municipality.” Gila Bend’s Solar Field Overlay Zone (SFOZ), Geisler said, is a uniquely streamlined approach to permitting.
SFOZ was developed, Gila Bend Director of Planning and Economic Development Director Eric Fitzer explained, because leaders of Gila Bend (official population 1,980) watched Abengoa’s nearby Solana solar power plant take two years to get through land-use permitting and decided they could do better.

Don't Kill the Dandelions

When I was a child we had this neighbor that was always out working on their lawn. They were very concerned about dandelions being eliminated from their lawn. I was a bad girl and would blow the seeds into the yard of my neighbor. Year after year they were buying poisons that were designed to kill dandelions and year after year I would blow the seeds of the dandelions from our yard on to theirs.

As a child I was naturally drawn to the study of nature and had all the survival, outdoor, and first aid, badges associated with going to girl scouts.

I found thru my studies that dandelions are edible. They are actually very nutritious and even healing to the liver. In these tough times you might want to consider what is growing in your yard that is edible just to be on the safe side.
